Losing weight can be a frustrating experience, whether you’d like to lose 10 pounds or 100. In today’s age, there are a wide variety of weight loss options such as weight loss programs and diet foods, and choosing one can be a daunting task. Additionally, the thought of losing weight often conjures up thoughts of harsh dieting and excessive workouts, which can make it difficult for many to get motivated. The reality is, there are several methods of losing weight safely and effectively without sacrificing your favorite foods and without having to work out to exhaustion.
Here are some methods to losing weight that won’t break your spirit or your wallet:
Walking. Make a commitment to go for a walk for at least 30 minutes every day. To keep it up when the weather isn’t nice, purchase a treadmill and walk in the comfort of your own home. Walking is an exercise that shouldn’t be underestimated, it’s a terrific cardiovascular exercise that strengthens and tones your legs and best of all, it’s a natural movement and one of the safest fitness exercises you can do. Buy a pedometer to track those steps and try to increase them every day.
Mini-cycles. Mini-cycles can be used at the office, on your couch, or anywhere else that you’re able to sit and reach the pedals. They’re lightweight, portable and inexpensive. The pedals look like bicycle pedals, featuring a metal bar with two pedals and they can be adjusted to your desired resistance.
Portion Size. Most Americans don’t realize how small a single size serving of food really is when compared to a super-size portion we usually receive at restaurants. Keeping your portions small to1-2 servings for each type of food per meal will help you lose weight faster without having to give up your favorite foods.
Think about your favorite kind of exercise activity and incorporate this into your daily fitness regime. Keep a schedule for your exercise so you can track your progress. If you find that exercising first thing in the morning, during your lunch break, or late in the evening is the best time for you, then set aside a certain amount of time to work out during this time every day on schedule. Isolating a certain period of the day every day and tracking your progress will make it much easier to keep up your commitment.
